Things are moving for me in the artistic side of my life, and I am entering a textile art work in the forthcoming end of year exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in Bristol (2nd - 6th July 2010). Seems like now would be a good time to get my finger out and put a website together so that people can see the various threads of my creative life in one place.
I'm publishing it today, as this will ensure that I continue to add to it; though it only has a few bits and pieces on it yet, and most pages are still under construction. I hope to update the blog regularly with pictures and commentary on process. I have so many ideas, but until now they've been floating aimlessly in a lumpy and directionless, albeit colourful soup.
I am so easily distracted by ideas, and often abandon projects before they reach fruition; being seduced by the next creative impulse. I'm sure other artists experience this, and it takes a lot of discipline to follow a thread through to completion. I'm trying to break this pattern (or chaotic lack of pattern!) and hopefully adding my art to the website and blog will help me stay focussed.
I'd love to hear from other artists about how they tackle this problem, and any comments on this or the work itself will be much appreciated from artists and others alike.
Wish me luck!
