I often like the back of an embroidery as much as I like the front!
Still too viral to be doing much and it's raining outside, so doing a post as I can't seem to rouse myself to do anything else. This is going to be a book cover. It's a painting on canvas, with silk that has been free-motion embroidered (The photo of birch in the background is just for illustration purposes). I will use it as the spine covering for one of my books, and I think it will look good against a hessian or knitted hemp cover. I often like the back of an embroidery as much as I like the front!

That's a good idea Arlee, though I am too busy putting pieces together for the exhibition in March to even consider doing an embroidery this month.......can't wait to get back to some more experimentation! Julie

Wow, I've spent about an hour on your site after seeing this picture on Pinterest, I love it! Your artwork and photos are very inspiring to a beginning fiber artist! :-)
